Product Description

NEWAFLUIDS high shear batch homogenizer is a type of industrial mixing equipment used to blend, disperse, emulsify, or homogenize materials in various industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, cosmetics, chemicals, and more.

It is designed to operate at high speeds and generate intense mechanical forces to break down particles and create a uniform mixture. The high shear batch homogenizer typically consists of a rotor (rotating element) and a stator (stationary element) arranged in close proximity. As the rotor rotates at high speeds, it creates a strong mechanical shear force by passing through the narrow gap between the rotor and stator. This shear force leads to the intense turbulence and localized high velocity that helps in achieving thorough mixing and particle size reduction.

Working principle for high shear batch homogenizer

The shearing head adopts a two-way suction structure,which avoids the dead angle and vortex phenomenon caused by the difficulty of sucking the upper material. The high-speed rotating rotor produces strong shearing force, which makes the shearing rate higher and the shearing force stronger. Under the action of the centrifugal force generated by the rotor, the material is thrown into the narrow and precise gap between the stator and rotor from the radial direction. At the same time, the material is fully dispersed, mixed and emulsified by centrifugal extrusion and impact.
Note:When used on a vacuum or pessure vessel, the shearing machine needs to be equipped with a corresponding mechanical sealing device.

Hydraulic Lift

This is the most robust lifting mechanism used for heavy-duty industrial high shear batch homogenizers. It uses a hydraulic pump and oil cylinders to smoothly stroke the mixer shaft up and down.

Types of shear head

A large number of experiments have confirmed that different shear heads with different shapes have different mixing effects. According to the actual working conditions, different types of stator heads can be selected to meet the needs of different processes:

• Mesh shear head: it is suitable for mixing low-viscosity liquid with the highest shear rate, and is most suitable for the preparation of emulsion and the crushing and dissolving process of small particles in liquid.

• Long hole shear head: suitable for rapid crushing of medium solid particles and mixing of medium viscosity liquid. long hole provides the maximum area of good circulation for surface shear.

• Round hole shear head: suitable for general mixing or crushing of large particles. the original hole in the stator head provides the best circulation of all the stator and is suitable for handling materials with higher viscosity.
